A Call To All

There is something powerful about 100 young people unashamedly worshiping before the throne of God. Dancing, jumping, hands lifted high. Others kneeling or laying prostrate in awe of their Savior. Our generation is looking for something to be passionate about, and God is the only One who can fulfill that desire. Everything else is a cheap imitation. We were created to worship and serve Him, and until we do, there will be a void in our life. It is time for us to stop our passivity. God can't move in the nations unless we are willing to be His hands and feet. Don't worry about the who, what, when, where, and why. If God is calling you do something, do it! Many of the leaders here have told stories about God telling them to do crazy things (selling everything they own, etc), and God has always responded in amazing ways! If God is calling you to do something, trust Him! I've seen ankles healed, backs healed, pain and swelling disappear, my broken toe 75% healed (praise th...

Count The Cost - Is It Worth It?

Image
Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them,  “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. and whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost , whether he has enough to finish it— lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple. Luke 14:25-33 I st...

Who Am I?

Image
“ Who am I ?” The question that has plagued scholars and common folk alike. How/why do I respond to certain situations the way I do? What are my dreams/passions? How do I respond when I get angry? What makes my heart stop beating in awe of? What type of people do I like to be around? How do I deal with criticism? Have you actually tried to get a pen and paper out and answer those questions? I haven’t. No reason to, because everyone else is telling me what I’m like, or what they think I’m like. According to the Myers Briggs personality test I’m an ENFP (I’m extroverted, and I rely on intuition, feeling, and perception). I’m an “enthusiastic, creative and sociable free spirit who can always find a reason to smile”. According to iPersonic, I’m a Spontaneous Idealist who is “creative, lively, open-minded, humorous and disposes of a contagious zest for life.” According to liberals I’m some-type of right-wing fanatic. “ She wants to own guns and is against abortion...

Part 3: Why Dating is Fundamentally Flawed

This post was written in response to Thomas Umstattd Jr’s. article, “ Why Courtship is Fundamentally Flawed ”. In Part 1 , I discussed the main problem with dating and courtship, in Part 2 , I showed from the Bible an alternative to the way most relationships are carried out, and in this post I would like to return to the topic of dating to answer some more points that Umstattd brought up. “ How can you tell who you want to marry if you aren’t going out on dates? ” - Umstattd’s grandmother’s query when she heard about courtship Umstattd’s grandmother’s question brings up the important issue of, “Are you trying to find the person you’re supposed to marry, or are you trusting God to bring you the person you are supposed to marry?” Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” If you’re trusting God to bring you whom you’re supposed to marry (the sa...

Part 2: God's Plans Are Not Fundamentally Flawed

Image
This post was written in response to Thomas Umstattd Jr’s post called “ Why Courtship is Fundamentally Flawed ”. In Part 1 , I went over why dating isn’t scriptural and the main problem with it and courtship (if you haven’t read it, I would encourage you to read it, so that you understand where I’m coming from). Neither dating or courting can be found in the Bible, but God did tell us a way to go about relationships. In this post I will be discussing the instruction He has given to us about it. But first I just want to say…. Our main purpose on earth is not to get married. Sorry to pop your balloon, but it’s not. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20 “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. “Gre...
