Your Love Is Like A Waterfall....

Image
Last month while I was at the YWAM Refresh Retreat in Kansas City, Mo, one of the speakers told us to ask God to show us what our hearts looked like towards Him. Well, I missed that part, because earlier the leader of the session had also told us to ask God for a picture, or word, or something, so I did that, and God showed me a waterfall. Now, when I first did my DTS, a waterfall was what God showed me as to what He and His love is like. So God showed me this waterfall (He and His love) and it was so peaceful and beautiful. It was in a tropical forest with light streaming through the trees, and bright flowers. And so whenever God shows/tells you something, you ask Him what it means, so I did. And God asked me how I responded when I saw the picture. Well, when I first saw the picture I was like, “Oh, its so beautiful!” But instead of my normal reaction of “I see water; I want to jump into it!” My reaction was more like, “Eh, not right now.” And God told me that the sam...

Count The Cost - Is It Worth It?

Image
Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them,  “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. and whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost , whether he has enough to finish it— lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple. Luke 14:25-33 I st...

Who Am I?

Image
“ Who am I ?” The question that has plagued scholars and common folk alike. How/why do I respond to certain situations the way I do? What are my dreams/passions? How do I respond when I get angry? What makes my heart stop beating in awe of? What type of people do I like to be around? How do I deal with criticism? Have you actually tried to get a pen and paper out and answer those questions? I haven’t. No reason to, because everyone else is telling me what I’m like, or what they think I’m like. According to the Myers Briggs personality test I’m an ENFP (I’m extroverted, and I rely on intuition, feeling, and perception). I’m an “enthusiastic, creative and sociable free spirit who can always find a reason to smile”. According to iPersonic, I’m a Spontaneous Idealist who is “creative, lively, open-minded, humorous and disposes of a contagious zest for life.” According to liberals I’m some-type of right-wing fanatic. “ She wants to own guns and is against abortion...

But God and the Way He Loves - A Change of Direction!

Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Genesis 22:2 Most of you know that a couple weeks ago my mom and I went up to the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Missouri, and while I was there God provided a way for me to do Youth With A Missions itimacy2impact Discipleship Training School, which was an answer to my prayer to do missions. [And if you have no idea what I’m talking about, you might want to read the other post here before continuing] Since getting back, I have been working on identification documents needed for traveling overseas, quitting my job, getting my application paperwork in order (including references), and mentally preparing myself to leave for a minimum of 3 months. In addition to the above, my family and I have also researched YWAM and their beliefs, and discussed among ourselves what to do when confronted wi...
