New & Old Law

This is something that my brother, Robert, just wrote in regards to the Old Covenant vs New Covenant, self-defense, and where our real battle is. Please, take the time to read all the way through it, even though it is long. It is mainly scripture. Following Him, Sara Most Christians fail to understand the difference between the New Testament Covenant and the Old Testament Covenant, which has led to division and new denominations.  Most people just decide, based on common sense, what parts of the Old Testament they will follow.  Let's just look at Scripture. "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.  Matthew 5:17-18 We see very clearly here that the Law is going to be around until "heaven and earth pass away".  Question, why would it only stay until that time

To Obey is Better Than Sacrifice

I love Proverbs. There are so many wonderful and insightful verses. I came across this one last night as I was looking for another verse... To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Proverbs 22:3 It immediately reminded me of 1 Samuel 15 where King Saul spared King Agag and saved the “fat of the land” against God’s direct orders to completely annihilate the Amalekites. Because of it, God rejected Saul as King and we all know the familiar verse that Samuel told Saul, “ Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams. ” (1 Sam. 15:22) Have you ever thought of how that verse affects your life? And I’m not talking about head -knowledge, I’m talking about heart -knowledge. We can memorize the entire Bible, but if it never means anything to us personally - if it never grips our innermost-being - it’s useless.

Time Is Money

Matthew 25:34-40 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?   Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’   And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ On Saturday we attended the Greenville Hope Center’s Banquet featuring Brian Birdwell as the guest speaker. At the end of the night, Pastor Randy Daw gave the closing prayer. It was r
