Carnal Weapon's

This was written on August 27th, 2011. Recently, I have become very aware of how much people rely on their weapons in lieu of God, and it has been rather startling. I have been shocked to see Christian families voting for the right to own weapons. The reason? To protect themselves and their family. If an intruder comes to steal, or kill them, they want to have a weapon to protect themselves, simply because they don't want to die. So I have to ask, what is so terrible about being a believer and dying? Death means eternity with God! No more strife, anger, jealousy, sin; we would be in the presence of the Almighty God for every and ever! So why are we scared of death? Because we don't trust God. If we were trusting God for everything and putting our family members in His hand, we wouldn't be worried about them. There is nothing to do, or to go through that God does not see. Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rive

Thankfulness....

This was written November 20th, 2008. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28           Our family was probably considered poor in CA; we did not have fancy cars, and the one we had was always dirty. We only bought new clothes if they were on sale, but we were never in want. We always had food to eat, clothes to wear, running water, and everything a family needed. We had a wonderful home school group, called Amazing Grace Academy, and we seemed to be busy with one event or another every weeknight. I was as happy as any 9 year old could be, and then, we moved.           When we moved to Texas four and one half years ago I was everything but thankful. I did not understand how moving to Texas was God’s plan, nor how He could do that to us. I was, though I did not really realize it then, mad at God. I remember every night before we left California going to sleep crying. I had never live

Delight Yourself Also in the Lord...

This was written on February 13th, 2011. P salm 37:4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. "Delight yourself also in the Lord." What does that really mean? How can you do that? The dictionary definition of 'delight' is: A high degree of pleasure or enjoyment; something that gives great pleasure. How often do we really do this? The first thing I think of that delights me is my family, friends, and animals. Yet we are supposed to delight in the Lord! We are supposed to be taking pleasure and enjoyment from spending time with Him. It isn't supposed to be something that we have to do, it should be something we can't wait to do! We should love talking to, and spending time with Him as much as going over to our best friends house, or playing a game, or whatever activity we "delight" in. Our delight should be on the Lord! He should be our focus and the center of all of our thoughts and actions. When most of

My Life Verse

This was written March 21st, 2010 My life verse is Colossians 3:17, And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. This verse has always been very special because it shows us how to live daily. We are to do everything for God, and not for our own special gain, or the approval of others. We are supposed to do everything as if Jesus was standing there with us (which He is), and the end result should be for Him only. It is really a life verse, because it can be used all the time, not just certain occasions. There are far too many ways to show how God has used this verse in my life, it is in use even as I write this. I have a choice to just write a few sentences, maybe a paragraph, just barely passing the requirement, or write a well written paper that shows I actually put time into the subject. The latter of course will take more time, but the end result is so much better. Everything I do has two di

America.....

This was written September  16th, 2010. Most of us have driven on a freeway, right? High speeds, crazy driver's, you get the idea. I personally am scared to drive on the Dallas highway's. While driving at 70 MPH, driver's tail gate, cut each other off, and don't pay much attention to the other automobiles on the rode. They are looking out for them-self, I need to get here, I can't be late, I can't believe that person just cut me off. Me, me, me. Yet, isn't that the way we go through our lives? We don't care much for everyone else, and only look to please ourselves. How selfish we are! America is probably one of the wealthiest, if not the wealthiest nation, in the world.  We want for nothing! Even those with small incomes have food on their tables three times a day. People in 3rd world countries are lucky if they get one small bowl of rice or beans a day. Yet why are we so selfish? We have far more than most other countries, and yet we t
